പലപ്പോഴും നമ്മുടെ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍‌ത്തനം മന്ദഗതിയിലാവാനുള്ള ഒരു പ്രധാന കാരണം ടെംപററിഫയല്‍സിന്റെ ബാഹുല്യമാണ്. ഇവയെ നീക്കം ചെയ്താൽ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ നല്ല സ്പീഡിൽ തന്നെ നിങ്ങളോട് പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നതു കാണാവുന്നതാണ്. ടെംപററി ഫയൽസ് എന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാനുദ്ദേശിച്ചത് വിൻഡോസിലെ സ്റ്റാർട് മെനുവിൽ കാണുന്ന RUN (വിൻഡോസ് 7 ഇൽ അത് സേർച്ചാണ്) എന്ന വിനോഡോയിൽ  %temp% എന്ന്  ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്താൽ കിട്ടുന്ന വെറും ടെംപററി ഫയൽസ് മാത്രമല്ല. ടെമ്പററിൽ ഇന്റെർനെറ്റ് ഫയൽസ്, റീസന്റ് ഓപ്പൺ ഫയൽസ്, എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവിടെയും ഇവിടെയും ആയി വരുന്ന നിരവധി അനാവശ്യഫയലുകളെയാണ്.

പലപ്പോഴായി ഇവയെ ഒക്കെ തെരഞ്ഞുകണ്ടുപിടിച്ചു മടുത്തപ്പോൾ ആണ്, പണ്ട് വിൻഡോസ് 98 ന്റെ കാലത്ത് മറ്റുള്ളവർക്ക് പണികൊടുക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി ബാച്ച് ഫയൽ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ചെയ്തുകൂട്ടിയ ചില പൊടിക്കൈകൾ ഒക്കെ ഓർമ്മ വന്നത്. അന്നതൊരു ഹരമായിരുന്നു. വിൻഡോസ് അനുവാദം കൂടാതെ ടൈം വെച്ച് ഷട് ഡൗൺ ചെയ്യിച്ചും നെറ്റ് സെന്റ് എന്ന ഓപ്ഷൻ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പരസ്പരം മെസേജുകൾ അയച്ചും ഒക്കെ കുറേയേറെ കുരുത്തക്കേടുകൾ അന്നു ചെയ്തു വെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരു ബാച്ച് ഫയൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കി ഈ ടെമ്പററി ഫയൽസിനെയൊക്കെ ഡിലീറ്റ് ചെയ്യാമെന്ന ചിന്ത അങ്ങനെ അതിൽ നിന്നും വന്നതാണ്. വിൻഡോസ് 7 ഇൽ പണ്ടേത്തെ ഡോസ് മുക്കാലും ചത്ത് കിടക്കുകയാണല്ലോ! ബാച്ച് ഫയൽ വർക്ക് ചെയ്യുമോ എന്ന ഒരു സംശയം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എന്തായാലും സംഭവം വർക്കിങാണെന്നു മനസ്സിലായി.

ഇപ്പോൾ പാസൗട്ടായി വരുന്ന പലർക്കും ബാച്ച് ഫയൽ അന്യമായിരിക്കും. എന്നാലും പഴയ പുലികളുടെ ഓർമ്മകളിൽ ഒരു കുരുത്തംകെട്ട ചിരിയായി ബാച്ച് ഫയലുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞുനിൽപ്പുണ്ടാവണം. ബാച്ച് ഫയൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ ആദ്യമായി ഒരു നോട്ട്പാട് ഓപ്പണം ചെയ്യണം. അതിൽ താഴെ കാണുന്ന കോഡുകൾ കോപ്പി എടുത്ത് പേസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുക. എന്നിട്ട് അതിനെ ഡസ്‌ക്‌ടോപ്പിൽ തന്നെ സേവ്‌ ചെയ്തേക്ക്.

പക്ഷേ, പേരുകൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണം കേട്ടോ. എന്തു പേരും ഇടാം. നോട്ട്‌പാഡിൽ കാണുന്ന .txt എന്ന എക്‌സ്റ്റൻഷൻ അവിടെ പാടില്ല; പകരം ബാച്ച്ഫയൽ എന്നതിനെ ചുരുക്കമെന്നോണം .bat എന്ന എക്‌സ്റ്റൻഷൻ കൊടുക്കണം. അതായത് നമുക്ക്, ആ ഫയലിനെ “deltemp.bat” എന്ന പേരിട്ട് വിളിക്കാം. മാത്രമല്ല, പേരിടുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിലും ഒടുക്കവും ഉള്ള ഇൻവേർടഡ് കോമകൾ – quotation marks – (“…”) കൂടി ചേർക്കണം. അതു മറക്കാതിരിക്കുക. അതെന്തിനാണെന്നു കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചോളൂ 🙂

ഇപ്പോൾ ഡസ്‌ക്‌ടോപ്പിൽ deltemp എന്ന ഒരു ഫയൽ വന്നുകാണും. അതിന്റെ ഐക്കൺ നോട്ട്‌പാഡിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമായിരിക്കും. ഇനി ധൈര്യമായിട്ട് അതിൽ ഡബിൾ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്തോളൂ… ചെയ്യുന്നതിനു മുമ്പ് ഒരു സെക്കന്റ്!!! ഓപ്പൺ ചെയ്തു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ പ്രോഗ്രാമുകളും സേവ്‌ ചെയ്തശേഷം ക്ലോസാക്കി വെക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതായിരിക്കും. ഇതാ കോഡ്‌സ് പിടിച്ചോളൂ…
